We all have questions. We all need answers. Jesus knows we are seeking. In the book of John, Jesus provides the answer through several pictures so that we can understand. Through these pictures, Jesus provides the biggest answer to the biggest questions. His answer is pretty simple: two loaded words.
Each week, as you take in the Bible, find some friends to talk it out. You can follow this simple guide to help. First, R.E.A.D. and P.R.A.Y. on your own. Then, meet with friends to share what you've learned.

Sunday's Message Text: John 1
Bible Plan Readings - Week 37
START IT.
We started a new teaching series, I AM: Jesus In His Own Words, focused on meeting Jesus in the book of John. From Sunday's message in John 1 or the Meet Jesus Bible Reading Plan this week, what is impacting you the most? Was there a word, phrase, Bible verse, or theme that impacted you?
SHARE IT.
John 1 starts with "the Word". What do you learn about "the Word" in verses 1-5? How does John start to his account of Jesus different than the other 3 gospel accounts about Jesus?
What was coming into the world in verses 9-14, and why was it coming? What else do you learn about "the Word" too?
The first mention of the name "Jesus" in John is verse 29. Who is Jesus to John in verses 29-34? What huge claim does John make about Jesus in verse 29? Can you see that Jesus is "the Word" that became flesh and dwelt among us?
What does Jesus know about the disciples in verse 38? And what is his response in verse 39? How does this encourage you?
What happens in verses 38-46 when these men meet Jesus?
SHOW IT.
What excites you about reading the entire book of John in 8 weeks?
What is someone really saying when they use the words "I AM"? What makes these two loaded words?
Was there anything you read in John 1 that you didn't know before?
What encouraged you the most from meeting Jesus in John 1? What challenged you the most?
How does God show his care for us in John 1? Is there anything about God you want to share with someone this week? (Maybe it's time to send a text message right now)
FINAL THOUGHT
When you meet Jesus, you can never be the same. We see that truth here at the start of John's gospel account. One of the easiest ways to understand the idea of the gospel is that good news has invaded bad spaces. Do you believe this after looking at John 1?
